The Russian Investigation continued to cause a stir and create controversy. In recent days there were issues related to the FBI and now another Dossier had surfaced.
Republicans weren’t impressed by the dossier and didn’t trust the person who wrote it either. Cody Shearer wrote the memo and was known to be close to the Clintons back in the 90s. To them this smelled like bad news, that couldn’t be trusted.
Another person on the radar was Scott Pruitt, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency. He had said that Trump was a threat to the U.S constitution if he became President back in 2016.
Pruitt had now recanted and said he no longer agreed with what he had said.
The anticipation of a Trump and Mueller meeting still lingered. Chris Christie doesn’t believe that Trump should do the interview.
Christie’s Say
“I don’t think the President of the United States — unless there are credible allegations, which I don’t believe there are — should be sitting across from the Special Counsel. The Presidency is different. I don’t think they should do that,” Christie said.
He made these remarks while speaking to ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
“Robert Mueller is not someone to be trifled with,” Christie said. “What I’ve said all along is that in an investigation like this, there’s … nothing you can do to make it shorter. There are lots of things you can do to make it longer.”
Preet Bharara who is now a CNN senior legal analyst responded to Christie’s statement.
He tweeted “Reminder that @GovChristie is a former U.S. Attorney. If he were in charge of such an investigation, there is no universe in which he would not seek a Trump interview.”
