Disappointing
Trump was asked about talking to Putin about Russia meddling in the 2016 Presidential Election.
“What am I gonna do? He may deny it,” Trump said. “It’s one of those things. All I can say is: ‘Did you?’ And “Don’t do it again.”
The President was set to meet the very man he accused Germany of being captive to during the NATO meeting.
“It is up to President Trump to hold Putin accountable for his actions during the meeting in Helsinki. Failure to do so would be a serious indictment of his stewardship of American leadership in the World,” McCain said.
Trump was a worrying concern for those who wanted him to represent the U.S. in a more dignified manner.
It was the hope of McCain that Trump would deal with Putin in a matter that suited the security of Americans.
