The White House is still considered an adult day care center. The term gained popularity after Sen. Bob Corker said so.
He was responding to comments that Trump made on twitter. A feud ensued between the two of them. Corker eventually responded to Trump by calling the White House an adult daycare center.
He isn’t the only one who thinks this way. Many statements have been given by various persons that say it is so.
Some of these people either worked for Trump or currently serve in the White House.
A Republican said “if you visit the White House today, you see aides running around with red faces, shuffling paper and trying to keep up with this president.”
The Republican said he usually makes contact with the administration.
One of the persons who try to keep Trump under control is H.R. McMaster. He serves as the President’s National Security Adviser.
A Senior Administrator said of McMaster that “he plays rope-a-dope with him.”
The official said “he thinks Trump is going to forget, but he doesn’t. H.R.’s strategy is to say, ‘Let us study that, boss.’ He tries to deflect.”
Corker said “I know for a fact that every single day at the White House, it’s a situation of trying to contain him.”
He also said that lawmakers “understand the volatility that we’re dealing with. And the tremendous amount of work that it takes by people around him to keep him in the middle of the road.”
Sam Nunberg said “if the President wanted to do something that I thought could be problematic for him, I would simply, respectfully, ask him if we could possibly wait on it and then reconsider.”
“And the majority of the time he would tell me, ‘Let’s wait and reconsider,’ and I would prepare the cons for him to consider,” he said.
He continued “sometimes he would still go with the decision I may have disagreed with, and other times he would change his mind.”
The President dislikes any one treating him like a child. So the staff has to e very creative how they approach him.
The biggest issue is the President’s twitter feed. That has been the place where he has made some of the most controversial statements.
That is the one place no one has control over. Regardless to what they pitch, the President will speak his mind there.
He has a large audience there as well, which seems at times to fuel his need to tweet even more.
But Newt Gingrich thinks Trump doesn’t need anyone to treat him as you would a child.
“He’s the President of the United States. Period. Is he an unusual President? Sure. But so was Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt,” he said.
