Push To Protect
Trump’s lawyers were certainly pulling out all the stops to protect the President. They believed there was no reason for the President to meet with Mueller as he had all the Intel he needed.
“We are reminded of our duty to protect the president and his office,” the lawyers wrote.
Rudy Giuliani who was Trump top lawyer said that Trump was telling the truth.
He claimed that investigators “have a false version of it, we believe, so you’re trapped.” He added “that becomes not just a prosecutable offense, but an impeachable offense.”
“We cannot emphasize enough that regardless of the fact that the executive privilege clearly applies to his senior staff, in the interest of complete transparency, the President has allowed — in fact, has directed — the voluntary production of clearly protected documents,” his lawyers wrote.
It was true that a lot of time had passed the inquiry began, but did that mean that there was nothing to investigate?
The question remained, was there something that Trump was hiding or was it all just a witch hunt with another agenda in mind?
