Arizona Worries
The void that Flake leaves behind is worrisome. His absence leaves the race wide open. The runner for the Democrats recently visited the White House.
Representative Kyrsten Sinema had dinner with Trump in the Blue Room. The report of her being openly bisexual is an issue for some.
“There are issues, murmurs within grass-roots groups and the progressive community, the environmental community and others, including immigration advocates,” said Raúl M. Grijalva.
He is the Democratic representative for Arizona. He refuses to endorse her.
The other end of the issue is for Republicans to find a replacement. They have been struggling so far in this area.
Trent Franks said “it definitely opens up the Senate for potentially a full spectrum of conservatives to win — or potentially lose the seat entirely.”
Franks is an Arizona Republican and said “the possibilities are almost endless.”
Steven Law wrote in an email “Senator Flake’s decision to exit the race gives everyone a chance — the White House and Republicans in Arizona — to work together to find a strong candidate who can hold this seat. That’s not going to be Kelli Ward.”
Ward is supported by Steve Bannon. Bannon has been pushing to his own agenda while swearing loyalty to Trump.
The situation had been called a bedlam by Mark Noble. Noble is a Republican pollster.
“This is essentially a free-for-all. Everyone’s phones are blowing up,” he said.
