Trump’s attitude towards Tillerson was disliked by one staffer. The person said “It makes me angry.”
Spokeswoman Heather Nauert said “diplomacy is our top priority. We remain open to dialogue, and we’ve long said this. We remain open to dialogue when North Korea is willing to conduct a credible dialogue on the peaceful denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”
Nauert was commenting on the North Korea situation and the unlikely hood of any talks.
She said “we are not seeing any evidence that they are ready to sit down and have those kinds of conversations right now.”
This was a big issue and one of the things that Tillerson and Trump were at odds on.
Tillersn responded to the rumors about losing his job. “People need to get better sources,” Tillerson said.
Tillerson went off script by offering an opportunity for talks without any conditions, it created an unhealthy atmosphere.
“The President’s views on North Korea have not changed. North Korea is acting in an unsafe way not only toward Japan, China, and South Korea, but the entire world,” Sanders said in the statement. “North Korea’s actions are not good for anyone and certainly not good for North Korea.”
This again placed Tillerson in a funny position with his boss. It seemed that he would leave his office anytime soon, but time will tell.
