Graham’s Initiative
Graham wants the legislature in place to protect colleagues. Graham said if Trump “would fire (Special Counsel Robert) Mueller or have somebody fire Mueller because he doesn’t like Mueller or Mueller is doing something” he opposes, “then we become Russia.”
Senator Cory Booker, D-N.J. is helping Graham write the bill that can help anyone who Trump wishes to dispose. Graham said “This effort to basically marginalize and humiliate the attorney general is not going over well in the Senate.” He also said, “I don’t think it’s going over well in the conservative world.”
Senator Graham isn’t the only person who has shown compassion for Sessions. Many of his compatriots have called him to offer support. They are shocked, wondering how a loyal supporter of Trump would be treated in such a harsh way. Sessions was considered by many as one of Trump’s most loyal Lieutenants.
It doesn’t look good for the Commander in Chief. Those who would usually offer their support are becoming annoyed with his behavior. Yes he is still the man in charge, but even the President needs a strong backing. The road he is going will definitely not help in that prospect.
