Is Kid Rock Running For Senate In Michigan Too Far Fetch?

Kid Rock whose real name is Robert Ritchie joked about running for Senate. He has made mention of the idea many times.

It seems he is taking the idea more seriously now. He cannot run as Kid Rock, but can with his official name.

He is eyeing what would be the 2018 Senate Elections. Rock would be running in the State of Michigan. His rival if he ran would be Sen. Debbie Stabenow.

Kid Rock is a household name as a singer, songwriter and musician. The 46 year old artist like Trump would use his popularity to run.

Rock is backed by Republicans to run on their ticket. He has even created a website called kidrockforsenate.com.

Is Popularity Enough?

Popularity among other things has won over some people. But will that be enough to win votes? Rock has no previous experience in politics.

This could be a major downfall as he competes against Stabenow. Democrats are a little concern about his announcement. They believe he could be a problem for them in the Michigan.

A Michigan stipulation may hinder Rock from using his stage name. The stipulation however allows him to use his real name.

Rock has been tweeting about his plans among other things. Recent photos make one wonder if he is really serious.

Some believe it may all be just a publicity stunt.

Sarah Anderson said it would be awesome if he ran in Michigan. She said however back in February she was unaware about him running.

Sarah Anderson is the GOP Press Officer for Michigan.
