President’s Trump Night At Gridiron Dinner Showcased His Joking Skills Or Did It?

The President recently showcased his joking ability at the Gridiron dinner. He claimed that he could show a sense of humor ad he tried did, or did he?

He felt that he did a really good job with his jokes, while some thought he lacked the punch that came with being hilarious.

It was reported that the President did one liners all night as he joked about a variety of subjects and people. Even his own son in law didn’t escape the arsenal Trump dished out.

Another casualty of the President’s jokes was Vice President Mike Pence. Trump was on a role last night and that was clear based on all reports.

Jokes Close To Home

Trump said “so many people have been leaving the White House. It’s actually been really exciting and invigorating ’cause you want new thought. So, I like turnover. I like chaos. It really is good. Now the question everyone keeps asking is, ‘Who is going to be the next to leave? Steve Miller or Melania?”

Trump jokes about the controversy surrounding his son in law.

He said “before I get started, I wanted to apologize for arriving a little bit late. You know, we’re late tonight because Jared could not get through the security. I will tell you he is a good guy. And he has suffered. He is a great guy.”

Mike Pence got his share of Trump jokes as well.

“Lately, [Pence has been] showing a particularly keen interest in the news these days. He starts out each morning asking everyone, ‘Has he been impeached yet?’ Mike, you can’t be impeached when there’s no crime, please remember that,” Trump joked.

Better Than Trump?

The President joked about his abilities. He even bragged about how good his humor was.

“Nobody does self-deprecating humor better than I do. It’s not even close, said Trump. “I was very excited to receive this invitation and ruin your evening in person. That’s why I accepted.”

Trump hit on Jeff Sessions too and seemed content with his own jokes.

Referring to Sessions, he said “I offered him a ride over and he recused himself. What are you going to do?”

Kim Jong Un was even part of Trump’s humor spell.

“I won’t rule out direct talks with Kim Jong Un. I just won’t. As far as the risk of dealing with a madman is concerned, that’s his problem, not mine. It’s his problem,” Trump joked.
