Recent reports by the White House claimed that it was investigating leaks within and without. It was said that someone in the administration taped conversations with the President to impress friends.
It was also claimed that a statement by one of his own about John McCain was leaked.
Trump was also pushing investigations about a source who gave information to the FBI regarding his Presidential campaign.
Trump had long been against the leaking of information and these new developments had angered him.
The biggest focus by Trump was the source that infiltrated his campaign. In an effort to cripple the Russian probe he wanted to know who the informant was and what he gave the FBI.
The Source
The DOJ said that exposing the informant could put lives in danger. It also cited that doing so could hamper operations by the U.S. Government.
A news report claimed that there was an informant assisting with the Russian probe, a report that angered Trump.
“Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI ‘SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN EMBEDDED INFORMANT,’ ” Trump tweeted. He added, “If so, this is bigger than Watergate!”
Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani believed there was a conspiracy ongoing in the DOJ.
“The prior Government did it, but the present Government, for some reason I can’t figure out, is covering it up,” Giuliani said, adding that confirmation of an informant could render the Mueller investigation “completely illegitimate.”

Trump threatened to fire anyone who was found to have leaked information on White House proceedings
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that staff had been fired for leaking information.
No names were given but it was made evident that the White House won’t take leakers likely.
“The President has to have advisers around him who can have open, candid discussions and then not read about him the next day in the newspapers or watch them on television,” John Bolton said.
Bolton, the National Security Adviser spoke about the recent revelation of firing leakers.
“When I worked for Mr. Trump, I worked under the maxim that he liked leaks. I never cleared them ahead of time, but I would tell him later so he’d have deniability,” said Sam Nunberg.
Nunberg once worked for the President as a campaign official.
“Sometimes he loved them, sometimes he screamed about them. But he never told me to stop. He loves the media, loves being talked about, he loves how a leak gets his name in the news,” he added.
The White House had decided to make the gathering for meetings smaller. The intent was to keep those who be divulging information to a low or non existent.
This was a sign that all wasn’t well at the White House. Something Trump had denounced as untrue.
