John McCain And Joe Biden Form Alliance To Combat Trump

John McCain and Joe Biden have been opponents for over 30 years. But that rivalry has just come to an end.

The two men have now formed an alliance to stop Trump in his track if possible. It is also noteworthy that they had some sort of friendship.

The problem they had with each other was more on policy. But that now is behind them.

Biden recently presented the Liberty Medal to McCain.  The presentation took place at the National Constitution Center.

The President has brought these men together more than anything else. They have a hard time accepting many of Trump’s policies and behavior.

John McCain

McCain said “we believed in our country and in our country’s indispensability to international peace and stability and to the progress of humanity.”

He launched an attack on some who are considered destructive to American livelihood. McCain said they “refuse the obligations of international leadership and our duty to remain ‘the last, best hope of earth’ for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism.”

It is believed he was referring to Trump. It is clear that McCain is no way impressed with the President’s tactics.

McCain was one of the main contributors to the failure of Obama Care repeal. He didn’t think the bill was a suitable replacement.

He isn’t the only one who felt this way. Another prominent figure was Jimmy Kimmel who made it clear that the bill was a failure.

McCain said “we will not thrive in a world where our leadership and ideals are absent. We wouldn’t deserve to.”

The Senator has shown strong convictions upon topics of security.

Joe Biden

Biden shared a few words as he presented McCain with the medal. He said “I want to say, John, how much your example of service and duty, courage and loyalty, inspired my Beau.”

Biden also made remarks to McCain’s battle with cancer and his own son who served. He said “John, when he received his cancer diagnosis, he also found strength in the courage you’ve demonstrated throughout your whole life.”

His son was Beau Biden who passed away in 2015.

Biden talked about how his son had admired McCain. This made John McCain very emotional. He shed a few tears as he listened to Biden.

Biden read an old speech from McCain which sums up where their loyalty lies. He read concerning America and what it represents.

He said it is an “International beacon of liberty and a defender of the dignity of all human beings, and the right to freedom and justice.”

This alone is reason enough for these men to come together. The President has attacked the First Amendment in recent days.

He had made a verbal attack on NBC News for what he considered fake news. He asked that their license be revoked.

Time will tell if these men will be a real threat to Trump’s policies.
