Details Reportedly Show That Trump Lied About Russian Meeting

Trump said he knew nothing about the meeting with Russia. His son was recently interrogated about his role in that meeting. Trump Jr. said in a statement that he met with lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya. Veselnitskaya has ties with the Kremlin, a Russian entity.

Trump had earlier denied any knowledge of the meeting. Trump’s lawyers were the ones who gave this statement. They made it clear Trump knew nothing of the meeting.

False Statements

Information has surfaced which proves that Trump lied to officials and the American people. The Washington post gave a statement claiming Trump had lied. They claimed he had initially plan to give a true statement, but decided not to afterwards.

The report also claims Trump made up the story on his way to the US, after attending the G20 Summit. One of his advisers believed that move could cost him. He believes it open him up to criticism and other problems.

Trump Jr. also made it clear that his father had no knowledge of the meeting.

Previous Report

Trump Jr. during questioning about his involvement had taken responsibility for the meeting. Reports indicate the meeting was a result of an email Trump Jr. received from Rob Goldstone. The email made mention of a Russian Real Estate developer. His son is the one who contacted Goldstone.

The son had said that his father had information that would implicate Hilary Clinton. After receiving the email, Goldstone contacted Trump Jr. to pass on the information he received.

Trump Jr. said he arranged to meet with Goldstone to review what he knew. This led to the eventual meeting that has caused so much controversy.

Trump Jr. also tweeted about the meeting, including names of persons who he claimed were in attendance. He mentioned Russian-American lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin and Ike Kaveladze.

Jared Kushner who is the President’s son in law and Paul Manafort were reportedly also at the meeting. Paul Manafort was Trump’s election campaign Chairman at the time of said meeting.

This information made the Trump Administration look untrustworthy. In light of many claims about the relationship between Trump and Putin, this worsens the situation. Russia and America are at odds, with the US imposing new sanctions on Russia. Russia has responded by sending home hundreds of Diplomats.

“Apart from being of no consequence, the characterizations are misinformed, inaccurate, and not pertinent,” said Jay Sekulow. Sekulow is also one of Trump’s attorneys.

Alan Futerfas said there was no evidence to prove what has been reported. He too is another of Trumps lawyers.

Show Proof

Some claim there is proof, others say there is none. The biggest problem Trump faces will be the releasing of any proof. If any evidence is provided, then it will make Trump and his team look even worse to the public eye.

America watches to see if there is any transparency in the White House. Things are looking grim as Trump continues to deny any knowledge of Russian tampering during his political campaign.

Everything seems to be happening quickly and it is only a matter of time before the truth is exposed. Whatever that truth maybe, remains to be seen and heard.
