Deceit And Huge Spending Revealed In Roy Moore Drama As Election Nears

It was recently reported that campaign ads on the radio were largely from Doug Jones. The difference between the two spending budgets for the ads was significant.

It was reported that the difference on the radio was a staggering 10-1 ratio. Democrat Doug Jones and his associates are spending quite a lot to win the seat.

Reports also indicated that a sting operation might have been orchestrated by Moore. Jaime T. Phillips had approached the Washington Post.

It was believed that she had offered a false story against Moore in an effort to target journalists.

Jaime T. Phillips

It was believed that Phillips was apparently part of a sting operation. She was seen entering the New York offices of Project Veritas.

Project Veritas was known for carrying out sting operations using false ID and fake news.

James O’Keefe founded the company and was once arrested for using a false ID to enter a Federal building.

“I am not doing an interview right now, so I’m not going to say a word,” O’Keefe said. He was responding to questions about Phillips.

Martin Baron gave a statement regarding what was disclosed by Phillips.

“We always honor ‘off-the-record’ agreements when they’re entered into in good faith,” said Baron, The Post’s executive editor. “But this so-called off-the-record conversation was the essence of a scheme to deceive and embarrass us. The intent by Project Veritas clearly was to publicize the conversation if we fell for the trap. Because of our customary journalistic rigor, we weren’t fooled, and we can’t honor an ‘off-the-record’ agreement that was solicited in maliciously bad faith.”

Advertising Analytics LLC tracked money spent by the two candidates. It reported that Jones spent $5.6 million while Moore spent $600,000.

Jones airwaves ads had focused on the sexual allegations against Moore. Since the scandal surfaced Jones had over 6,000 ads. Moore had about 1,100 for that same period.

It was clear that Jones had now built his campaign around Moore’s allegation problems.

This might prove the winning note for Jones, but it was left for voters to decide.

What could be the cause of the huge difference in spending? Was it a lack of funds by Moore and his donors?

Does Moore believe he didn’t need to spend that type of money to win over constituents? Or could it be that the allegations against Moore had overwhelmed those would have donated to his campaign?

Regardless of the answer, it would be the voters who decided the outcome not the money spent.
